Software For Trucking Industry
In the late 1990's a revolution took place in the trucking industry. The internet was just a few years old, and other industries were using computer software programs to increase efficiency and reduce data entry tasks. Then.... It happened. Software for the trucking industry was unveiled. Hundreds of trucking company proprietors happily dished out thousands of dollars for this new trucking software. Not unlike most new software (i.e. Windows XP), this new breed of software had plenty of bugs. Software programmers worked feverishly to fix any errors that were found. Most of the problems were fixed, and trucking software continued to gain popularity into the new millenium. Compared to the average price for most other business specific software, trucking software may seem a little higher in cost. I found several trucking software packages that were well over $2,000. Upon checking with the Better Business Bureau, I failed to see any complaints filed against software companies offering trucking software. It seems as if all the trucking software vendors on the market today are well run companies. After reviewing the all of the software programming companies offering trucking software, I did find one company offering trucking software for under $200. All of the trucking software I researched contained similar functions that automate most managerial paperwork. Also featured were reminders that inform trucking business owners of routine maintenance tasks for their fleet(s). Trucking software has made trucking businesses more efficient, and more importantly, more profitable.
