Thirty years from now, what actors and actresses of our time are going to be remembered? What names are going to be known a few generations from now as being great films stars of our time?

The actors and actresses that are going to be remembered are not necessarily going to be the ones that were shrouded in controversy. While controversial names like Lindsey Lohan sell a lot of celebrity magazines today, what impact has she made on the art of acting? What roles has she had that will make her memorable?

Not all of the headline names will be remembered in thirty years. Many of the headline Actors and Actresses of our time will be the forgotten artists of the future. Certain current headlines will be lucky to become mere footnotes in the future.

The actors and actresses that are going to be remembered are the ones that made a significant impact on the art of acting. Just like the actors and actresses that have graced the screen in the past that we still remember, this next line of memorable stars will be the ones that made us remember why we watch movies.

There are certain actor's and actress's names that immediately come to mind as ones that will be remembered in thirty years. While this list is not complete, it was made to be a guide as to what stars have made a significant impact during our generation.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks will definitely be spoken about for many years. His impact on the art of acting is immeasurable by current standards.

There are very few actors and actresses that have been able to find a place in both comedy and serious roles. Tom Hanks is an actor that will give a convincing performance no matter what kind of movie he is in.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts has been able to be a successful Actress in every genre that she has attempted. Her often powerful performances will make any movie memorable, and into an instant classic.

Leonardo DiCaprio

It does not matter how you feel about Leo as a person, his acting ability continues to grow, and will make him memorable for many years to come.

The fact that he is still so young makes Hollywood have high anticipations. His acting skills will inspire many young actors and actresses.

Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan will go down in history as the Queen of the Romantic Comedy. No actor or actress has defined a type of role as well as she has. Even though she will not be remembered for the versatility of her acting, she will be remembered for defining a film role type.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt will be remembered for his versatility and believability. There are very few other actors in history that have made characters as believable as Brad can. It does not matter if he is playing a psycho, or a caring husband, you will believe he is the character.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp will be remembered as one of the greatest Actors of our generation. He has taken the roles that others have turned down and made them memorable.

His ability to get into a moviegoer's head during a film is unlike any other actor of our time. Future movie watchers are going to continue to go out their way to make sure that they see as many of his films as possible.

George Clooney

While Clooney might not end up being remembered for his versatility, he will be remembered for the air of old-Hollywood that he brings to his current movies. Clooney is very reminiscent of old-Hollywood in the dignity and charm that he brings to every role that he takes.

There are many other actors and actresses that are on the edge of being brought to this list. Matt Damon, Kiera Knightley, Halle Berry, and Cuba Gooding Jr., and Angelina Jolie are all huge names in the film industry. None of them have had multiple roles that could be defined as career making.

Even though Halle Berry and Cuba Gooding Jr. have both won Academy Awards, neither has shown a flare that will make them memorable in the next thirty years. While they both deserve to be remembered, their lack of quality rolls will hold them back.

Matt Damon and Kiera Knightley are both very accomplished, but have not done enough work that has showed that they are worth standing out from the crowd. They both have extreme potential, but have just not shown it enough yet.

Out of all of the actors and actresses that we have in our movies today, there is only a handful that will be remembered down the road. We will be able to say that we enjoyed many of these performers when we are asked in the years to come.
